My sweet cousin is having a baby boy! Although I geared this shower to be more ‘boyish’, you could certainly make this a gender neutral or baby girl shower simply by changing colors or adding different touches.
Where did you start?
Before I did anything, I designed the invitation. If you don’t plan to design your own, find a design you like online and that will help you plan the rest of the theme for the shower. Here’s the invitation I designed.
This was such a hit! On your invitation (or printed on a separate card), simply have the poem for the diaper raffle so the guests know to bring a pack of diapers (if they wish). Here was the back of our invitation.
When the guests arrived, if they brought a pack of diapers, they wrote their name of these little cards I designed and put the card in the basket.
We had a separate table for the diaper raffle and one for the gifts.
I had my sweet cousin draw 2 names from the basket. You can pick as many winners as you’d like. I had two awesome prizes, so we went with two.
Prize 1 - Large tote bag, throw pillow, thank you cards, coffee mug
Prize 2 - Melissa and Doug blocks, Water Wow, Melissa and Doug Car Bingo
(Prizes came from Dory’s Hallmark in Moline, IL)
We decided to have snacks and and ice cream bar - what more could you want!? Here’s the menu:
Corn dip and chips
Cheese and crackers
Fruit and veggies
Olde Town Bakery cookies
Ice Cream Bar (with toppings)
3 flavors (vanilla, chocolate, mint)
Chocolate and caramel sauce
Cake and sugar cones
Before opening gifts, we played a few short games. Here is a simple game I created.
In order to continue with my rubber ducky theme, I wanted the tables and wall decor to resemble water and bubbles.
Here’s the decor we used around the food tables.
Here is the recipe we used for the rubber duck punch!
This large pool toy was a great addition to the party!
Because the church basement we used is a large room, we wanted to section it off and add a balloon bubble wall. Let me tell you, this was the best part of the decorations! It was easy to do, it just took a little time. If you have an event coming up where you want to make a big statement, please do me a favor and create one of these! It’s like a modified balloon arch!
I picked up these white ice cream cone holders at Target.
Baby boy is set to arrive a just a few weeks! Thank you to everyone who was a part of this!
